DISTCO 2009 is part of a series of “Digital Storytelling Contests” hosted by School of Science and Technology (SST) and sponsored by Cosmos Foundation. The contest is open to all K-12 students and teachers at both national and international level. The DISTCO 2009 asks students and teachers to submit their digital stories in a certain time frame and manner for the contest. The competition will be held solely online through this website. The project has certain benefits for both students and teacher. It is a way of exposing and challenging the students in a competition where they can show their certain skills in multimedia, technology, researching, writing and creativity.
There will also be a research aspect of the project. This project will contribute to investigation of educational uses of digital storytelling in K-12. The results of the research will be published and shared in SITE 2010 conference. Results also will be available trough this website.
